Currently in the environmental study and preliminary engineering phase\, OCTA and Caltrans will evaluate the potential benefits and effects of extending the 5th general purpose lane to this segment of northbound SR-57 within the cities of Anaheim and Orange. This study began in mid-2016 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2018. Caltrans is the lead agency for the project under CEQA and NEPA\, and OCTA is the sponsoring agency. This study is funded by Measure M\, Orange County's Transportation Investment Plan renewed by early 70% of voters in 2006.
