Join the Anaheim Chamber in welcoming Carolyn Cavecche
to the October Legislative Meeting.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Cavecche serves as President and CEO of the Orange County Taxpayers Association. She came to OCTax with over a decade of public policy experience gained from serving on numerous city, county and regional governing boards. This experience has given her insight into how government can and should keep taxes "fair, understandable, cost effective, and good for business."
Prior to joining the Orange County Taxpayers Association, Carolyn served 6 years as the directly elected Mayor of the City of Orange in addition to serving almost 6 years as a member of the Orange City Council. During her close to 12 years in office, she sat on the boards of several regional agencies including: the Orange County Transportation Authority, the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink), the Orange County Sanitation District, and the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency.
Some of Carolyn's recognitions include : the Elected Official Ruby Slipper Award by the Orange County Building Industry Association, the 2007 Woman of the Year by the Orange County Women in Transportation Seminar, the 2007 Elected Official of the Year for the State of California by the California Transportation Foundation, one of 20 Women to Watch in Orange County by OC Metro Business Magazine in 2008, the 2009 Transportation Leader of the Year by Mobility 21, and the 2011 Elected Official of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies. She received the Orange Chamber of Commerce's award for exceptional economic development results in 2007 and in 2012.
With California's business community facing the constant threat of increased taxation, please join us as we hear from Carolyn about some of the major tax bills which were introduced in Sacramento this year, which were defeated, and which ones may show up again in 2016 during the legislative session or on the ballot as a statewide initiative.
